About Rezdôra
What is Rezdôra?
You may wonder what Rezdôra means. I am from Emilia-Romagna, a region in Italy famous for its delicious food (e.g., Tortellini, Prosciutto, aceto balsamico, etc.). La Rezdôra is a traditional figure in our regional culture. The name derives from the Latin verb regere, meaning "to direct". In the past, families living in the countryside were larger, and many siblings would live with their extended family under the same roof as their original family.
Rezdôra episode 1: Vilma's home
Let me introduce you to my Aunt Vilma, 92 years old — the woman who comes to mind every time I think of the word Rezdôra.
She is proud of her independence and still cooks for her daughters and grandchildren, filling her home with the smell of tradition and love. In this video, we’ll step into her world: a kitchen where time seems to have stopped, where gestures are simple and full of meaning, and where every recipe tells a story.
Come meet her — a true Rezdôra in every sense.
